Exactly this, with a thicker disk it gets too close to our e36 style steering knuckle and the splash guard than is ideal. Hence AP making a specific kit that reduces the offset of the mounting bell and adjusts the bracket to reposition the disc and caliper further out into the wheel

That's what I would like to know! But even if everyone who has one chimes in to say they don't have this problem the sample set would be small enough that drawing any real conclusions would be a folly. There's what, 5-10 of us on here with one, I don't think more.

I didn't think testing knock sensors for resistance is really a thing? Resistance changes cannot tell you if the sensor is actually generating a voltage when the engine knocks. I reckon it would be interesting to disconnect the MAF from a car with the problem. It will then run on a basic 'apha-n' map, something similar to those of us with a csl box and associated map. The car won't run amazingly I'd imagine but would be interesting to see if the rev drop issue...

Presumably that's for water temps as there is no oil temp warning light, only for pressure and level. 143 is high but it's within tolerance, the manual states not to exceed 150c and the castrol 10w60 is also good for that, however it will probably shear down to at least a 40 pretty quickly, so...

I'm not sure if it's still a thing but the carriers were worth good money to the e46m3 crowd to upgrade to csl spec (calipers are the same between the two of course). Put an ad up on cutters perhaps? I seem to remember selling mine for 150 or so but it was a long time ago so that might be way out.
