    Steering angle sensor problem

Do you mean the actual copper contacts on the sensor itself? I understand I can just spray it with contact cleaner? So the difficulty would be in removing it and putting back in. Unfortunately I'm a couple hours away from Lincoln.

    Steering angle sensor problem

Hi all, My Z4 (e86 si) gave me the infamous 4 dashboard lights - ABS, brake fluid (!), tyre pressure and the traction control light. I plugged it to the BMW scanner 1.4, there were 3 errors - electronic car immobilisation system, steering angle sensor and central body electronic. I cleared it...

£9k is a decent budget, there is a few of them on autotrader. Just don't be afraid of 100k+ milage.

Just wanted to show off my little weekend project - 3d printed bluetooth receiver and magsafe phone holder that slots nicely into the little gap in the dash.

How to become a better driver

I've done about 3k miles in my Z4, mostly longer drives around Wales. It's brilliant, I absolutely love it but I sometimes it terrifies me. It's my first sporty, rwd car and I don't know if I would be able to handle it if it got out of control. What's a good way to improve my driving skills? Can...

    Oil level checker not working

Oil checker used to work until recently. Now it keeps checking with the clock icon displayed for a good while (several minutes) and then just cancels. It does it on cold and warm engine, while driving and stationary, no matter for how long I've been driving it. When I drive it for a while and...

    E86 one month ownership

I bought my e86 around a month ago. It had just under 100k miles and turns out it was neglected for some time so there is quiet a bit that needs to be done. So far I've done: - service - oil millers 5W40 and mahle filter, air and cabin filters (OEM) - replaced spark plugs - replaced solenoid...

    Replacing drop links

I ended up buying cheap extra slim (3mm) spanner set and it worked fine. That worked with the old ones but not the new ones, see photo: I

    Replacing drop links

I'm in the process of replacing drop links in my e86 Z4. I managed to remove the old ones by gripping the bolt with adjustable wrench on one side and unscrewing with spanner on the other as the whole thing was spinning and there was no Allen key hole in the bolt to hold it. The new item...

Control arm - Delphi vs Meyle

It's harder than I expected, especially when it's all as rusted as mine. I undid all the bolts except for one, there is not enough space to put the spanner in. Removing ball joints is also going to be fun.

Control arm - Delphi vs Meyle

Just checked, definitely not xenons. I'm going to go for https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354580363858 - a bit more expensive but a lot bigger seller so should be safer. I'm going to keep the car in jacked up and hopefully will fit them the moment they come.
