Great condition and rare colour (Stratus Metallic 440) BMW Z4 with extended leather pack to cover door tops, windscreen surround and sun visors. Even has original London 2012 key ring from 2008. Used as a commuter car by me for the last 18 months or so. Not travelling to the office at all for...
I don’t know as that was before I bought the car. If the rest of the lower control arm was shot replacing the rear bushes may have been a way for the previous owner to get it good enough to sell on.
I suppose if the other 2 bushings in the lower control arms were gone that would transfer all...
Thanks guys. I run Shell V Power 99, had a recent terraclean, the plugs were done 10k miles and 1 year ago at an Inspection 2 service but I have no idea which plugs they are.
I was thinking that a coil performance would degrade before it failed and if they don’t degrade at the same rate then...
Just had an MoT fail (major defect) due to the lower front control arms and the associated 3 bushings having excessive play.
The car os a 2.0 on 18s and is 12 years old and has 55k miles on the clock
Is this a normal period for them to last?
Wondering when to replace the coils on my 2008 Z4 2.0 with 55k miles.
Yes - I know it’s the 4 cylinder but the lightness up front really changes the turn-in and response on twisty roads...
Warm idle is a little lumpy and as I’ve had the fuel system cleaned I’m wondering if this would likely be...
Thanks folks. I’ll put the points to them tomorrow when I go back to pick it up.
I’ll see if they can register it, and if not ask Halfords etc. to do it.
FWIW my E85 Z4 has no stop start but I bought the best AGM battery recommended for it as I really don’t like waiting on the roadside (or...
I’ve just taken my Z4 into the local dealer for a check on the electrics after the last battery failed.
The advice I have got back is that the “battery needs to be registered and needs to be a genuine BMW battery to do so”.
Has anyone else come across this?
Smells like BS to me as I am being...
Thanks all. The next time I went back to the car the battery was really dead.
It seems that my battery gave up after 3 years in the car. I think it was stood for some time before I bought it.
Apparently when the voltage is dropping as the battery dies the first thing to drop out is the cd...
I thought that but when you plug in the aux in cable when the stereo is live you get a very loud sound through the speakers which is a surge through the stereo.
Similarly if the phone end of the aux in cable touches metal bodywork whilst the other end is plugged in you get the same sound...
Hi
Looking for some guidance on here. The head unit in my 2008 E85 Z4 failed on start up (it’s possible the aux-in cable may have earthed on the seat runners).
The backlighting of the volume knob and the CD slot seems to work but the unit is otherwise dead.
If it’s not been earthed by...
