Paint, Wheels, Suspension and Spoiler... my E86.

Thanks for the comments. I bought the wheels on a whim...but I really think they suit it, so they have stayed on for a year. It helps they have a wider offset and so fill the arches a lot better also.

Paint, Wheels, Suspension and Spoiler... my E86.

It was really just a case of the arches all needed doing as there was some evidence of bubbling, and a few stone chips on the bumper and bonnet, so may as well just respray fully. It was another 1K difference, so a no brainer. The suspension was not too bad anyway, but it was original to the...

Paint, Wheels, Suspension and Spoiler... my E86.

Decided to give the car a bit of a refresh, so had the signs of rust on the arches dealt with which then turned into a full respray. Complete suspension replacement along with new wheels for a bit of a JDM / WRX look, and colour coded Maxton lip spoiler. Very pleased with the results, not to...

    Colour change advice

Mine is currently in the body shop for some work, getting the bubbly arches fixed and a full respray. It is going to work out in the region of 5 to 6K give or take as it is having new rubbers, badges, new windscreen etc. So there is a rough guide for you from down south in Bournemouth.

    Aftermarket stereo - which fascia?

If I remember correctly you screw in the first part of the facia, like you say, and then the outer part clips onnto it. To remove mine I just wiggle it and it unlips. I think I cut away some of the facia to make it fit better. Like I said, none of them are great, but they get the job done. As...

SOLVED-Steering wheel controls and cd clock intermittent

I have had the same problem you describe, and more. I battled the Kbus for a year. At the end of the day mine was down to two main issues. The module on the floor between the two seats was damp and I had to remove the module, dry it and resolder a load of dry joints, that brought most of the...

    Aftermarket stereo - which fascia?

I'm not sure you will find anything better. All of the facias I have seen are of two types, the type you have, and another type that is flat. Neither are great. I have the one that you have I think. From what I remember, the vents go in first then you slot the stereo in place. You can see my...

Why does this wire kill my electrics?

So, I just thought I would add an ending to this thread. Two years later... I never did anything regarding the data wire that was pulled out of this plug. It only seemed to affect the stereo having "disabled" stuck on for a while, which then randomly cleared one day, the steering wheel controls...

What have you done to your car today?

Attempted my first MFSW refurb.. before and after... Removed the rubber coating using water and baking soda (absolutely ate through it, was very easy to do), filled a few cracks with modelling putty, sprayed with Hycote Primer and then Hycote Satin Black. Probably going to leave it as is...

E85/E86 MFSW M Sport, Multi Function Steering Wheel

Just about to pop outside and put this onto my E86, and thought I'd share the "after" shots of the wheel as this is my first time refurbishing one. Took some time but it looks pretty good now and will continue it's life on another coupe!

What have you done to your car today?

Looks way better with the spacers... I think these are the wheels you are looking for, unfortunatley they were on my wifes Z4, she has changed the wheels since and still has them but she won't sell them...so I can't help! I did ask!

    Alloy wheel storage

I was having a tidy up today and needed to move a set of alloys outside of the shed for a while, and stumbled across something interesting. If you have some of those green circular garden waste bag from amazon or similar, they are the perfect size to snugly store your wheels in, one bag on the...
