I'm being constantly annoyed by a twittering noise coming from the front of the retracted hood on my 2004 E85 2.5i. If I raise the hood by a fraction the noise disappears. I've tried greasing averything but no success. Anyone got any ideas Sailorman

My 2004 E85 2500 si had a new roof motor fitted in summer 2020 by the previous owner and I felt pretty certain it would last a few years. Wrong, last week it failed and to make matters worse the manual over-ride does not allow me to move the roof at all. Luckily the motor failed in the UP...

Thanks, Rockhopper. I reckon it IS the DME Relay. Happily the light has not reappeared on 2 occasions so maybe it was sticky after a period of no-use. We wait to see.

I have a 2004 E85 2.5i. The control which operates the external mirrors is 90 degrees out of alignment so if you press to bring a mirror in, it goes down! Very irritating especially as my wife and I have very different driving positions and so we are frequently adjusting the mirrors. I'm sure...

Thank you both for your advice. I'm waiting to see if I get any more recommendations but meanwhile have disconnected the bonnet switch which seems to have stopped the intermittent alarms.
