    I'm not sure I understand what you mean by write off, do you mean damaged? IMHO The Man on The Street uses the word 'write off' to mean a car that is so badly damaged it should never be back on the road - this would be recorded as a cat A (must be crushed) or cat B (must only be used for parts)...
