Revs are directly related to road speed. The rule of thumb used to be get into top gear as quickly as you can and use the lightest possible touch on the throttle pedal to get the revs and therefore speed that you want without labouring the engine. I'm not so sure this is still true with...

At an engine speed of 8100 RPM, your alternator is spinning at 21,937.5 RPM

An alternator should be safe to 15k rpm. But alternator RPM isn't the same as engine RPM. You'd need to work out the size of both pulleys then do some maths to work that out!

Also worth making sure the engine bay strut braces are super tight.

I just tightened mine as much as could manage with a sensible sized socket wrench. They need to be very tight. Ignore published torque figures.

Even my owners manual doesn't say which bulbs are monitored! On my Focus it was only indicators, brake lights and side lights.

okay, and everything but licence plate bulbs apparently :-) Rare for headlight to be monitored see seemingly they do. depends which Google source you reply on.

Just get the software! Only the side lights, brake lights and indicators are monitored.

Mine did the same, warning on but all bulbs okay. Software told me which bulb turned the warning on, changed it warning went away and hasn't come back.

Plug it into WBAC and add about £1500-£2000 to their price.

BMW Scanner 1.4 will show you which bulb is turning the warning light on.

Just unbolt them and go for a drive and see if the noise goes away. Drop links usually knock when driving on bumpy roads.
