Had my car into BMW today to check this yellow stuff out (pics above) and indeed they do say it's "normal". Did a pressure test also and appears "normal". I beg to differ, out of all the cars i've owned i've never had this sort of crap in my oil. Why would they lie? Well it's about 2 months away...

Would anyone be worried to find this amount of gunk? Or is this pretty much what has been described as "normal"? Thanks, Rob.

Alright folks, looking for a bit of your collective knowledge and opinions on this one: Two days ago, when i was up north, the engine warning light came on my dash. Looked it up and it says "exhaust emissions have significantly deteriorated" or something similar. No other symptoms of a problem...

Surprisingly I ACTUALLY read the manual when I got the car, mainly to see what the (!) and DTC buttons meant, but never saw anything about auto opening windows. A strange function in my opinion, I don't really see how it aids access? Is it so you jump through the window instead of using the door? ;)

Alright mate, I've just had this exact thing fixed under user approved warranty. I've got a 2005 2.5i. BMW said it was a alternator tensioner. Rob.
