Thanks to all! It's still under waranty so I'll let the shop worry about it on Monday. I am sure, however, that this particular Zed will be up for sale before the end of next week. Not saying the E85's are a bad lot, just not happy with this particular sample. Three strikes and you're out.
So now my zed think's it's cool to start beeping at me and continue... this happens intermittently, but always either at start-up or shutdown. It's the same beep that warns you if you left you key in the ignition or don't have your seatbelt on. When it starts there's nothing I can do to cure...

I hear the tappets for the first 2-3 seconds before hydraulic pressure pumps them up. I was concerned at first but a thorough google of the topic shows that it's not uncommon for the 3.0 engines. I would probably worry if it lasted a couple of miles...

The only thing I've heard of is tire dealers (ie Costco) not willing to install anything other that the factory sizes, but that's for liability reasons.
If it's jerking forward than it's definitely NOT slipping. Those two are polar opposites. A slipping clutch has a very slow (or non existant) lockup. In extreme cases of slippage, you will see the rpm's rise (say when going up a hill) with no change in road speed.
