    Water temperature.

These stupid Z4's don't display the engine water temperature just the oil temperature. Is there any 'hack' to have it displayed in the binnacle? Ta.

    Helmand- Tour of Duty

Just watched this on BBC iPlayer. What a very hard and moving watch, well worth it if you have an hour spare but have the tissues at the ready.

Recall: Vanos Adjuster (2011 SDrive 30i)

https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/footer/quick-links/bmw-vehicle-recalls.html Looks like mine is OK, no recall on BMW's website

Had to say goodbye to our lovely Fox Terrier today .

We had a Cavalier King Charles called Macy, she was 13 which is old for a Cavalier. First time in over 30 years we don't have a dog and I don't think we will get another, it's too heartbraking losing them.

Sunday 21st April North Wales - Pensarn Promenade coffee and cars

There were a lot of cars here, only saw one Z4 though, a few Z3's. Made me laugh as there were a lot of very expensive sports cars mostly driven by what is best described as pensioners :D and it was even funnier watching them trying to get in and out. Well worth a visit for petrol heads. Ha...

    Disrespectful?

War is never good, we have one day a year to remember our fallen and injured and they choose this day! I'm somewhat relieved my wife's and my parents, who served in WW2, are no longer around to see how this country has become. Surely tolerance is a two way street? Nothing wrong with freedom of...

    Radiator fan replacement

FYI, mine had an additional torx screw on the bottom holding a small cooler on circled in blue. I had to remove the 200 screws holding the undertray to get to it :D If anyone wants a fan and housing they are welcome to the old one from my car, it could be the fan or the switch that was...

    Overcooling question

Thanks Mark, the belt is all good, I've thoroughly checked it. The mark is where it was against the bottom pulley, it actually looks worse on the image than it is, it's only slight. I'm thinking the cover has come unbonded when the fan has been running full pelt for some time and it's got hot...

    Overcooling question

It looks like it could indeed be the cooling fan. I decided to check the water pump was working ok and it's pumping nice and freely with a consistent stream. Had a general nose around the fan and spotted that there was no cover over the electronics on the back of the fan, looking a bit further...

    Overcooling question

In the last 2000 miles driving my 2010 E89 3.0 N52 auto I've noticed that on a few number of occasions the radiator fan is staying on the whole time I'm driving. The oil temp gauge shows a low temp too. The remedy is the typical IT solution to switch off and switch back on again, the temp then...
