I live in Long Beach California and while they're not dime-a-dozen, there are quite a few. I work in a large office building, and there are three on my corner of the parking garage alone - a white //M Coupe, a 2.5, a Green //M Coupe - not including myself.

After quite a bit of futzing I took it to the dealership I bought it from - an independent place - who rather politely scolded me for not knowing how to operate the car. That nonsense stopped when they had the problem. Next step was off to the local BMW dealership...
I live in Los Angeles, so I'm somewhat skeptical of animal damage. That said, I would very much like to see a BMW Diagnostic readout of "Varmints" or "Critters."
That's unfortunate. Any idea what the "F1" code refers to specifically? I don't doubt the relay/pump diagnosis, but I can find little to no reference to that code online.
