    Oil Filler Cap Rubber Seal

I already replaced the squarish one, but thanks anyway TriggerFish. I too thought about buying a generic one and just using the seal. Worth a shot.

    Oil Filler Cap Rubber Seal

Can just the rubber seal be replaced on the oil filler cap or do I have to spring for around $50.00 and buy an entire cap? Mine has a small leak probably from being tired after almost 20 years. I know I can get a generic one on Amazon for a lot cheaper, but I want the OEM one that is marked BMW...

2006 3.0si Journey and Chronical Begins

Another purely cosmetic addition. In the US a company named Coco Mats makes top quality floor mats out of several different materials. I have used them in just about all my cars. The ones I chose for the Z4 are made out of Sisal. The originals will be retained of course. I still need to...

What have you done to your car today?

When you have the original window sticker it deserves to be framed and preserved. Will be nice to display with the rest of the original manuals and tool kit when attending car shows.

Style 108 Restoration With a Few Questions

Funny how taste vary from person to person. I looked up the 107 and not my liking. I have always been drawn to simple 5-star designs like the 108s, Mercedes Penta, and older Bobets or even throwing stars. I had the throwing stars on my 1987 M6 and I bet these would look good on the Z cars, if...

Style 108 Restoration With a Few Questions

The set of 4 for $400.00 is probably the way I will go. If the Pirelli tires are any good, I will sell those to recoup some of the cost. And I will have plenty of extra titanium bolts to help others out when they find themselves with some that break during disassembly. I wonder why these are...

Style 108 Restoration With a Few Questions

A set here in the US in good condition is going to cost around $1,200.00 to $1,500.00 US. A refinished set can be as much as $2,000.00 US. And the first estimate I got to strip, ensure the wheels are true and power coat them was $2,000.00.

Style 108 Restoration With a Few Questions

I picked up a set of Style 108 wheels to have professionally refinished. The set presently on my Z4 is pristine, this will be a second set. I am considering a satin black powder coat to go with the rest of the blacked-out trim on the car even though I have seen black on these wheels and their...

What have you done to your car today?

Since I eliminated the run flat tires, I decided to add a mini 12v compressor with sealer kit from ECS Tuning here in the US. Fit nicely in the space behind the battery.

2006 3.0si Journey and Chronical Begins

The covers weren't inexpensive, but I feel when installed they just make the top down look more complete, cleaner. You think the BMW ones are bad, you ever install the 3 large plastic covers on a Saab 900 convertible? The BMW ones are nothing compared to those.

Maintenance. What am I missing? Water pump and thermostat at 51,000 miles and 19 years as preventative maintenance? Brake flush? Diff oil?

Look what arrived today from the UK... Now I need to paint the OEM roll bar covers I ordered a matching satin black.

2006 3.0si Journey and Chronical Begins

Yes, the pedals are not to my taste. The difficult thing in deciding what to do with the wheels is the ones on the car are in mint condition and they don't look bad on a black car. The M Sport seats I found are 8 hours away, if they were closer I would be owning them.

2006 3.0si Journey and Chronical Begins

I noticed the steering wheel that way after I moved it to get a clear picture of the odometer. Oops... The only other seats I have seen as an "upgrade" are the M-Sport seats. Not exceptionally common for sale and not inexpensive. There is a set on FB Marketplace for $1,800.00. I don't desire...

2006 3.0si Journey and Chronical Begins

Well, the journey actually started a month ago with my first Z4, a 2008 3.0si with 120,000 miles, non-working top, non-working AC, but I only paid $6,500.00 for the car. I loved the Z4 so much I sold it within a month and spent good money on a one owner 2006 with only 51,000 miles. So now the...
