Anybody else following "Project Z4 ///M Coupe" on the Slip Angle?

Four vids so far - here's the first: https://youtu.be/509egwvr5wY?si=57ww1j46d3WfMGG1 Always liked the restraint Quinn's shown with this vs. his Japanese cars and the fact that he has some different perspectives, coming from that side of things rather than a BMW/M modding background. You'll...

Vevor Spring Compressor – Absolute Bargain and a Lifesaver!

Vevor are amazing value but they’ve had three goes at sending me a black garage storage rack and delivered a white one every time! Their customer service is impenetrable for anything but the most straightforward return/replacement, even implying there’s something wrong with my camera/eyes...

Bleed the ABS/DSC system using INPA

Because we tell INPA to run the DSC bleed procedure and INPA initiates the process. I had assumed pumping = ABS activation, i.e. there isn't some other mode, sans pedal press, where the pump runs but it's not actually the ABS bleed procedure.

What have you done to your car today?

Thanks, yeah - I never miss a chance to dust off ye olde windows XP laptop with a battery life of 30 seconds. A bigger issue was actually a sheared rear bleed valve, but I managed to bleed to the point where I'd connected the new line and it seems to have not trapped too much air. Caliper...

Bleed the ABS/DSC system using INPA

Just followed this as I can never remember the menu options etc - thank you. Do you know what purpose the press of the brake pedal is actually serving? The ABS unit activates for me whether I depress the pedal or not. I wonder if it's just to create brake pressure and, if so...

Right - just needed a bit of a yank and a poke. Wish me luck for the shakedown…

What did you do to your Z4M today?

Mine have always had no tabs - I suspect they shear at the slightest little bumper prang. I bought a new one because the old one had rubbed through when I was running 40-profile front tyres as an experiment! Not terrible - just a niggle worth doing when I had the bumper off anyway. Bumper...

What have you done to your car today?

Been replacing corroded brake lines - loads of info and pics on the forum, as usual. Left front is fine. Front right and rear left went ok - the first one done off the car with a pipe bender, and the second shaped in-situ apart from the final 180. Might have fallen at the final...

What did you do to your Z4M today?

First pic above is “before”, last pic is “after”. It doesn’t look great but I can’t see how it could get any closer. All of the clips are engaged, the screw is in and it looks the same as the other side. :scratchhead:

What did you do to your Z4M today?

Replaced front duct and arch liner (see 2nd pic for the wallet-saving M-ification process!). Always nice to have a bit of a clean out of all the crud behind the bumper too. Also replaced one of the rear bumper brackets which had cracked.10 minute job but amazing how sh!t the panel gap still...

Banjo bolts on standard rear calipers?

Just checked this myself - looks like a straight connection is the most straightforward. Even a banjo with an angle isn't going to clear the rear spindle, shocks etc as well. Also spotted this lovely mess while I was under there, so that's another thing to sort now (diff input seal, I...

Banjo bolts on standard rear calipers?

Does anybody know if you can do a straight swop of our rear brake hoses to ones with a banjo bolt fitting? Any clearance or hose routing issues? I can't check this on the car at the moment so any help would be much appreciated! Quite keen to get it right this time as I didn't switch to banjos...

    Throttle sticks for a second

As a quick test once the plenum is off, take the linkage off the throttle actuator and manually open/close the throttle bodies. You will be able to feel of there is any mechanical resistance which, as above, can often be remedied by cleaning and lubricating the ITBs and/or their shaft bearings...
