Why did you buy your Z4?

As a 25-year-old, I refer to it as a mid-mid-life crisis. 350z was my original choice but the Zeddy's mpg just did it for me. I can gun it and grin a lot but also just cruise in sixth and not have to set up camp at my local petrol station. Managed 37.9mpg in France at one point. Incredible for...

    Softening the Zeddy

I think we all know the Zed isn't the smoothest ride unless it's tarmac! I have 19s and Kumho tyres (not RFT) and standard suspension so mine is probably a little better than it could be. Even so, what could I do to soften it up more, besides sitting on a pillow or driving at 5mph?

    Underpowered

A lot of it is the power delivery. In the Zed it's quite flat, which makes it feel less fast. Hit 3k, full power. Something like a Mazda RX8 will feel much quicker because the torque is much less linear but actually the performance difference is, at best, marginal. I managed 38.6mpg on the way...

    Man points?!

Nothing wrong with the Fiat 500, especially the Abarth. If I needed a daily driver I would probably have the SS version. :driving:

    Xenon adjustment for Europe

Hi all. Trying to find the switchy thing to adjust the level on my Xenons so I don't blind the French. Is it accessible from the bonnet? If so, anybody got a picture so I know roughly where to look?

The July 2012 Photo Competition - COMMENTS

Liking dubsesd's shot, looks great! Don't think equipment matters so much, it's the composition of a shot that counts. Avoid straight edges, use two-thirds, etc - that makes a real difference. A basic bit of Photoshop knowledge can help but it won't make a crap shot into a good one.

This weekend, I have been mostly repairing my DISA...

Hi all, When I got my car it had a very minor rattle, and disconnecting the DISA verified it as a problem in there (when running the engine just take off the connector, if you want to test it yourself). From what I've read, a slight bit of give in the DISA unit can cause the rattle you can hear...

Need a certain tool - any recommendations?

Thanks very much. Don't suppose you have a link or something - I'm not sure which set on Halfords it is? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd?srch=t40&department=all&action=search&storeId=10001&catalogId=10151&langId=-1

Need a certain tool - any recommendations?

Hi all, I need to take my DISA unit off to fit the replacement part I bought. It's a T40 I need on a torque wrench as far as I'm aware. Where can I get one for cheap - or even borrow? Located in South West London.

I just want to get rid of a few unsightly white marks on my roof. AutoGlym didn't quite do the job.

    Travel kit for Europe

So adjusting the switch is enough or can I just use deflectors for my Xenons?
