Followed a black E85 LR05*** on the A25 outside Dorking, this afternoon. Judging by the rapid indicator flashing, must have had a bulb out.

Beginning of a failing wheel bearing?

I have a set, just about raise it high enough to get my head wedged under the car. Where they do come in useful is creating some height for jacking up from the front or rear. Pic:

Waved at 2 yesterday on the A25, one white, one dark grey, not a sausage back.

Interesting thread ‐ visual check of mine through the oil filler hole and it looks pristine. Even the orange plastic appears to be free of any discolouration. Gave the chain a push/pull and no movement whatsoever. Sadly I can't unread this thread, so it will always be a slight niggle.

Removed the windscreen washer bottle for a right good clean. Such an exciting task I forgot to take Before & After pics.

Mine's an '06 3.0si daily, well a part-time daily - 11 mile commute each way, 3 days a week. Through Dorking and over Ranmore in the Surrey Hills, sets me up for the day and winds me back down again no matter the weather.

I sold my MX-5 and 130i LE on carandclassic.com last year, but it took 8 weeks to get a viewing for each, and the asking price for each, which was on the higher side to reflect their condition. I got enquiries from two dealers for the 5, both with a ridiculous offer. The MX-5 went to a chap...

I like that you haven't felt the need to go FI. Who did the bodywork/rust prevention? Looks like you've targeted all the usual risk areas. And the soft top is off the car currently?
