I know it’s been discussed but… BMW insured warranty for 35is - yes or no?

Peace of mind really with manufacturer type warranties. I renewed mine on my 35iS in April at £440 with £100 excess. I've not had to claim (yet) but thought it worth the money compared to Porsche manufacturer warranties I've had at around £1000 (no excess) but they are bullet proof warranties...

Not using my Z much in this crap weather

:D I was thinking of a speed boat to go with the webbed feet you get up here due to weather. Just back from Kent, never rains there does it? Went to white cliffs of Dover last weekend and my mobie switched to French telecom, Baguette telecom or something like that! As for the Z, I just keep...

Not using my Z much in this crap weather

Wet weather? I am in the North West and am thinking of swapping my Z for a boat! Its a 2015 35iS with just 2500 miles on the clock.

Z4M at Laguna Seca in September

It will be an epic trip. I did PCH last month on a Harley and visited the raceway at practice time, it was a great experience. One thing surprised me (or perhaps not) - the strong smell of weed from Carmel all the way down to Santa Barbara. Keep your windows down!

    BMW warranty renewal

The question is, do you want peace of mind and no hassle in the event of a claim? Then go for a manufacturers warranty every time. May cost more money but will avoid argy bargy at the dealer in the event of a claim. :D

    Auto or manual

In days of yore, there were only two options - manual or auto, and understandably "sports car" drivers (generally with net back leather driving gloves) opted for manual as the more sporty option. In the 21st Century, there is now a third way - Porsche have PDK and BMW have DCT. I have driven...

Non franchise warranties for older cars - any recommendations?

Thanks all, Sound advice given that one of the quote was about £1700 per annum and point taken about the exclusions. Having had years of no hassle warranties with Porsche (had the car 5 years) or BMW (had E46 for 8.5 years under extended BMW warranties and now new Z4), I am not looking forward...

Non franchise warranties for older cars - any recommendations?

Hi all, Not for my Z4 as that is under manufacturers warranty, but I also have a Porsche Cayenne which is almost 10 years old (low miles) and from this year can't be covered by Porsche's iron clad warranty. Any recommendations of companies who warranty older cars (and pay out) most welcome :)...

One day away from picking up my Z4

I agree about the diesel TT. Funnily enough a family friend (female) has just bought one, a cabrio. She tested a Z4 first but did not like it. Funny old world eh! Probably caught up in the VW diesel thing too, oh dear.

new Z4 - sills vulnerable to stone chips?

I will ask the guy when he calls round and let you know.

One day away from picking up my Z4

Folks. Others may think differently about warranties but my view is that its always better to go with the manufacturers backed one (assuming you plan to have servicing and fixes done at a BMW franchised dealer. I found the Mondial warranty on my previous beemer (E46) to be excellent and it took...

new Z4 - sills vulnerable to stone chips?

Happy to keep folks posted if interested, the film guy is calling round later this week with a template so hopefully it will be done by the weekend and yes the sills being high is one of the reasons I want the job doing so as to avoid scuffs. Although I have owned several BMW's - I sold my...
