Yes, I did on my E85 2.2i, it doesn't need a dealer you can buy one from Halfords and fit it yourself, easy peasy. I think the E89 needs it coded though. Mike.

Thank you both, I'm wondering if the dip stick is the wrong type now as unless it is kept to your no 1 it beeps and the oil light comes on. Also I presume the mechanic put in the correct amount of oil 6.5 litres. It's now up to the number 1 moulded on your dipstick. Mike.
