    I have a pair of E89 rear lights that I have just taken off my Z before I trade it in. I sealed the gaskets properly when I bought them, before fitting, so no water ingress or leaks, etc. One is dated 08.04.19 and the other 09.04.19 Both still nice and shiny with LED bulbs fitted instead...

    Mine did exactly this too, it would only leak when driving through, never when parked up and left.

    The design seems to be exactly the same but the foam which seals the vent against the body was completely flat on the old ones. The vents could easily be slid up and down whereas the new one is really solid when fitted in place.

    I changed mine at the weekend, I removed the lights to make it easier to see and then just unclipped the vents from the inside, turned them slightly and pulled them into the boot. Took about 15 mins to do both
