Yep I think that will be my first call. On one us blog I did read it was all hydraulic fluid Pentosin 11s. Ring any bells?

The pump was my first thought but the fact that some days it works perfect and others it plays up? Also it changes gears fine even when you don't want it to. Apart from the oil/hydraulic fluid ??? my other thought was the speed sensor on the box. Anyone had experience with that?

It might be the same as the E36, But either way it's worth checking out the M3cutters website.
