    You were correct about getting the part that is used for E46. I found a Bross BSP42(FBA) (made in Turkey) that looked the exact same as mine, and it did work.     $12-15 US dollars for E36 or E39 version. But they do not look exactly the same, so I have my doubts that it would work properly. May give it a try, as you say, but still wondering if any are available for an E85, or why not?
