Thoughts to bring some life to steering

The Michelin PS4/PS5s are relatively soft and I find they feel worse compared to Goodyear Asymmetric 5/6s. Steering feels particularly dead at centre. I made the mistake of going for the PS5s last year, I will be going back to Goodyears whenever I need new tyres. This tallies up with what...

    Propshaft central bearing and guibo

As others have said, removed the prop entirely from the car and it's a very straight forward job. The only 'special' tool I needed was a vice. I didn't need to use pullers. The two things you don't want to get wrong: Ensure to mark the position of the two halves of the drive shaft so they...

    Gower road trip, worth it?

I'm often down there since my girlfriend is from Swansea and her parents live in the Gower. Some of the best beaches I've ever visited are there (highly subjective), I especially like the quieter ones that require a bit of a walk to get to such as Broughton Bay (2 photos attached from last week)...

    Zedfest - Sunday 17th August 2025

I didn't buy a ticket as I was expecting I wouldn't be around for this, but in the off chance I am, worth asking if you are limited to 150 cars total for the day or if one shows up after 1pm once a few cars would have left, would entrance be allowed? I live relatively close, so could ask...

Engine sounds like a diesel car…

I can hear your DMF being noisy and injectors ticking. Both common sounds of the N52. DMF being particularly noisy in all 3.0si I've ever been in, especially at idle and when turning the engine off.

Fuel brands and octanes [Poll included]

Preference in this order: Tesco Momentum, Supreme 99+, V-Power. At least in most places in the UK, both Momentum and Supreme are Ethanol free and possibly 2 RON points higher than V-Power. Video on this. I used my 3.0si as a daily and watched my mpg quite closely then, in my experience, no...

    Bmw TIS

I wouldn't mind receiving a link if anyone fancies sharing. I can access everything through ISTA, but that can be inconvenient if I am under the car!

    Lightened/Single-Mass Flywheel and Clutch

I don't have any experience with lightened flywheels on the S54, so can't help you much. But I did come across this reel on Instagram that makes one very appealing, the OP was also happily answering questions in the comments. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKNP6heR2T1/?igsh=MTFqdGxseWZzdXd5Mw==...

What have you done to your car today?

6yrs running 20w bulbs and the only drawback is that they burn out every 18 months or so. The current draw through the wire goes from ~0.9A to ~1.7A and I believe it's large enough to safely take that. Can't say I've ever seen the wire insulation showing signs of age in any of my 3 Z4s, though.

What have you done to your car today?

The bi-xenon sidelights have a blue filter, so any brighter LED bulbs will make it look blue rather than white. Your best bet is a 20w bulb which perfectly matches a 5000k D2s and is noticeably brighter than the OE bulbs.
