    Roof useage

The car is new to me, less than a week old! I love the way it drives, love the fact that is has an array of relatively up to date tech ie Bluetooth streaming etc. I discounted the SLK because of the unreliability of the roof, so bought a folding metal roof Z4 instead. I know go figure…. Don’t...

    Roof useage

I know that on most forums you always read the worst of the worst. So I wondered does anybody actually use the convertible roof on their E89 or is it deemed so unreliable most people don’t bother? I would love to but frankly a bit terrified of the whole thing! Reassurance or reality most...

B21 that is an incredible piece of work. Thank you so much for putting it out there. It makes my INA pump research pale into complete insignificance. Thank you

    Taken the plunge

I do like a bit of research having never heard of INA I’ve discovered - INA (part of the Schaeffler Group) is a major global supplier to virtually all of the world's leading vehicle manufacturers. As an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specializing in engine, transmission, and chassis...

    Taken the plunge

Hi B21 thank you for your help. I don’t understand what tier 1 and tier 3 means. What is the difference please? Is tier 3 inferior or less robust. Genuinely interested especially having been quoted so much for a genuine BMW pump. Many thanks

    Taken the plunge

I’ve just been quoted Ā£1200 to replace thermostat and water pump at a local specialist. Apparently the pump is BMW only no OEM parts available. Is there a suitable OEM or am I in for Ā£1200? All help gratefully received. Many thanks

    Taken the plunge

I finally did it 😁 2011 3.0 sdrive with 90000 miles and a good recent history. No evidence of water pump change. Would you change it as a precaution or are the any early warning signs? Also it’s an auto, is there an oil change schedule for the gearbox? Many thanks Lawrence

    Sat nav

Good morning All I’m negotiating to buy a 2004 3.0se which ticks many boxes. It has the original sat nav fitted but the screen is reluctant to pop up. I’m not really bothered about it working in its current form as I would want to upgrade the head unit for a simple Bluetooth compatible single...

    Good evening from Hampshire

Thank you for the replies and greetings. The 2004 3.0 that I’m looking at does have the original satnav although I’m not sure if it’s working. Would this make it harder to update the head unit? Many thanks
