What have you done to your E89 today

Could you post some pics of yours on the 400m please. Was considering a set of those. Thanks.

    SOLD E92 M3 seats - should fit the E89

Hmmmm. Just had a google and it seems to be not so straight forward. The seat height is likely too high also and the e89 is cramped at the best of times. Perhaps not.

    SOLD E92 M3 seats - should fit the E89

Have you still got these seats? I’m local to you and could do a test fit. Are they heated seats? Mine are heated black sports seats and have electric operation for side bolsters and airbags. The main adjustment is manual, but I guess if your electrically operated seats plug straight into the...

Agree. Fronts should be about spot on but the rears will sit 4mm inboard of a standard 326 rear. You will likely need 15mm spacers on the rear to achieve a nice OEM+ stance. I have 10mm on the 326 and it is not aggressive. Pic below

Nice looking rims. What are the widths and offsets on these ? Be good to see some pics when they are on the car 😊

Not my engine, but a very clear view of the top end where the fuel pump attaches. The threaded holes circled have very soft threads and are easily stripped. The “castle” that the fuel pump mounts on to is fixed by the four bolts at each corner over the top of the exhaust side camshaft and can...

What have you done to your E89 today

If you read my earlier posts a couple of weeks ago, the issue regarding the fuel pump fixing bolts/stripped captive threads (N20 engine) is fully solved now. The oil vapour whiff was coming from the poor seal between the rocker cover and the fuel pump gasket due to the bolt closest to the...

What have you done to your E89 today

Did a big road trip all around the Yorkshire Dales and the surrounding area on the two sunny days last week. Roof off the whole trip and 350 miles done on all my favourite roads and routes learned over many years. We bumped into a couple in an E85 near Litton and stopped for a chat...

What have you done to your E89 today

The underside and drivetrain are getting the love and attention this week. Lots of seized under tray fixings preventing access to the oily bits so they will all be replaced front to back and while the trays are off, the engine, gearbox and diff are all getting a fluid change (52k) and the...

Update on the auto start-stop. After coding, the car remembers the last setting you input using the button and retains it thereafter. So having pressed the button to light it up orange, every time I get in it is in that state.

I’ve already bought the new camber arms. Just haven’t got them on the car yet. In a way, it’s good as I’m curious to try the M3 ball joints too. I was also thinking about which other bushings to upgrade on the rear end to dial out the wobble and wander. Don’t want to ruin the ride quality...

Turned my attention to the rear camber arms yesterday. One bolt either end, easy work…. Except it isn’t. In true BMW fashion, the outboard bolts are no problem, but the inners.. the right hand side unbolts ok but you can’t get the bolt out as the diff is in the way 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. Left side...
