I had an intermittent flashing red light before that would stop the roof going up or down. The error I was getting was "short circuit to ground". Turned out there was a frayed wire that would contact with the hinge sometimes and stop the roof from working

It comes in two parts that join in the engine bay. The front one is pretty easy to change but I've heard the rear one that connects to the lever in the car is more difficult

I've used a yosh magnetic mount for a few years and it's been great. I use an adhesive one in my E85 stuck to the aluminium to the left of the steering wheel and liked it so much I bought a vent one for my other car. They come with the metal discs that you can stick to the phone or phone case...

As another option I had my roof changed about 6 or 7 years ago at Grosvenor Motors in Reading, not far over the border from Hants

Hi Shuey, I removed my aux in cable when I put a Bluetooth unit in a few weeks ago. As you suggest I had it mounted on the plastic on the underside of the heating controls - I thought it looked neater there than in the ashtray. If you want to DM me your address I can post it to you? It's an OEM...

Is this E85? I replaced mine a couple of months ago, it's a sealed unit that has lots of LEDs. Mine was falling apart when I removed it (old plastic). You can get new units from Amazon or eBay for about £25 and they are straightforward to fit - the £25 ones are not OEM so not sure how much it...
