It looks like the M3 control arms provide more castor and effectively move the wheel forward.
I was hoping to find out from the experience of others... not my own :D
The E46 M3 control arms have additional bolts which align with holes in the metal under-engine plate of the Z4.
That would provide additional stiffness to the whole front suspension.
There is a front and rear bracket... I have circled them in this image of the pump
However housings of LF20 and LF30 seem to differ a bit so there may be so flexibility here.
It seems likely there should be software setting to retain Sport mode.
The Z4M with factory hydraulic steering has Sport mode.
But retaining the motor electronics should do the trick as well.
The front and rear brackets don't have a partnumber so needs to be sourced from a used pump.
Looking at BMW parts manual there are 2 part numbers for main wiring loom of Z4 Coupe...
One up to 04-2007, one after 04-2007
Could anyone provide details on differences between pre and post 04-2007 wiring looms?
You need to have an alignment done after changing to hydraulic steering rack.
I would suggest applying Z4M settings.
Steering effort is mostly impacted by camber.
Z4M also has asymetric front wishbone bushings with increased castor for slightly improved straightline stability.
