Been down to see @enuff_zed today for another oil change, plus new seats and door cards (finally got sports seats, yay!), and replacing a particularly stubborn camber bolt.
Noticed whilst I was on holiday in Wales last weekend that the third brake light was trying to escape.
Had a look at it today and it appears it has completely disintegrated (I'm lead to believe that they all do that, sir, etc etc).
Superglued it back together and reinstalled.
It still has...
Hi all,
Decided to clear out some of the things from my stash that I'm never going to need.
First up; standard leather MSFW wheel. The leather has seen better days as the car it came off had ~140k miles on it, but the highlight here is that the plastic parts are in great condition, no cracks...
Finished up the interior trim swap to replace the silver plastic poverty dash/centre console trim with the fancier brushed aluminium version. Not a tough job, just a bit of a faff and knowing which bits have to be removed and the order in which to remove them. The aluminium centre console trim...
Got my hands on some brushed aluminium dash and centre console trim (and was surprised that it's actually metal) thanks to Martin, that I've wanted to replace the silver plastic poverty items in my car. Fitted the two upper pieces this evening, it looks like a proper faff to do the centre...
Another upgrade, gone from 17"s to 18"s (because they were cheap and I've been hoarding them since last year). Put them on and cleaned the car, new tyres are going on them tomorrow as the ones on there have loads of tread left, but they're pretty cracked and dry-rotted.
Sadly have noticed that...
I've been hoarding a set of not-perfect-but-solid 107s, considering putting them on for summer. However the tyres whilst very legal, are very rotted and cracked, so I'd have to spend out on a new set. Decided to test-fit one side to decide if I like them.
Replaced the plates with pressed aluminium versions. Both were showing their age and the front one was cracked, so time to do that. Just need some screw caps as the originals disintegrated.
(Yes, I know it's filthy, haven't had a chance to clean it yet this week)
Thing I've been working on; I recently got a big scanner so have been scanning my Z4 brochures as I couldn't find the E85 facelift brochure online anywhere. Also scanned the 2006/2007 accessories brochure, so you can look at things you could have got back then, but handily it has part numbers...
'Soft' wind deflector arrived today from @Gwest44, so that went straight on, at least after I'd figured out how you're meant to get the rear clips in (roof nearly all the way back affords the best access). Makes such a huge difference, can now drive around without getting blown to bits.
Had been planning this for a while but managed to justify it with woman-maths when Royals sent me the quote; got the tattier of the M-Sport steering wheels I own retrimmed in black alcantara (with a grey stitch to match the dashboard and add contrast to the black). Super happy with it.
