I've sent a message to the eBay user. They had two SMG ECU's for sale, so i'll see if they'll send the other one out. I hope it is the ECU at fault, but am trying to not get my hopes up. Might have to pay £600 for the part direct from BMW to be 100% certain

Hi Guy, Looking for some advice on where to go next with my SMG repair. I was driving home last Monday when my 2003 Z4 3.0i SMG, automatically shifted from 5th to 4th and the transmission light came up on the dash. The paddles could not change the gears, and even as i pulled over the car...
