From regular drive to manual— to sport then to sport plus mode questions

I thank B21 for trying to clarify things, I think me and some of us need a flight instructor in the car to get shifting figured out. And thank you B21 for not addressing some of us as Boys and Girls lol. and sorry B21 my heritage is only 1/2 Scottish. The 1/2 side had the name Tannahill, they...

From regular drive to manual— to sport then to sport plus mode questions

My ignorance and for me clear as mud. You say when you slide selector lever (shifter lever)to left it locks in place, for me when I slide it to the left I can manually shift up and down using the lever?? Kind of reminds of a sequential manual gear box shifter.

From regular drive to manual— to sport then to sport plus mode questions

So I guess I don’t have interactive which I like, just something else to go wrong and more expensive to replace———for me the comfort mode is only when in regular drive? Then when I slide shifter over it goes into sport 1 mode, but when I press my sport mode button it shows sport one and when...

From regular drive to manual— to sport then to sport plus mode questions

Yeah sorry, I have a 2009 30i. Sdrive When I pull shift lever to the left for manual mode it still shifts on its own but at different rpm shift points compared to regular drive. The sport and sport plus mode seems not much different except I think the suspension tightens up but I’m not sure and...

From regular drive to manual— to sport then to sport plus mode questions

After 6 months acquiring car and (not driving many miles) I’m still learning and trying to figure out the transmission shift modes. So I understand the normal drive mode but then there is the manual mode where you slide the shifter over to manual and it does change shifting rpm points but it...

What location possible to install an oil pressure gauge and look sanitary.

I think I’ve found a spot using an enclosed gauge pod. —no not on the A pillar or ashtray or dashboard. My only question for me now is if I should go with a mechanical or an electric gauge. When and if I get this installed I’ll repost with info and photo.

What location possible to install an oil pressure gauge and look sanitary.

On the Z3 I had, I replaced the clock with oil pressure gauge, which I think back then it was a common mod.

What location possible to install an oil pressure gauge and look sanitary.

Yes I understand what you are saying. There were Idiot lights in cars and trucks going back to the early 1960s, they wouldn’t go off till there was a problem. Most Ford cars and trucks from the 90s and on have an oil pressure indicater gauge but they are not much better than an Idiot light...

What location possible to install an oil pressure gauge and look sanitary.

I just can’t live without an oil pressure gauge, any ideas or PHOTOS where to put one. I want it to be a sanitary looking install. Maybe a mini guage somewhere? I’ve racked my brain and can’t see/find a good spot. And I have done lots of searches. Any one here that’s done one?

    Michelin Pilot sport 5

The p5s are only available in two sizes for 17s. 205/40 and 205/45. The General Altimax RT 45 (available in many sizes) are a smooth and more quite tire and cheaper—-that’s what I run here in the US. But someone said they are not available in the U. k. Of course the p5s are ultra max...

    Space saver wheel?

Never had a tear or puncture that wasn’t repairable, once I did have a puncture that was close to the side wall, and a repair kit fixed that. So if you value some trunk space get a repair kit and a can of tire sealer/inflater and buy road side service, but if trunk space is not important then...

    Did anyone go 225/50/17?

Well just go with 245 45s that are available and having the highest ride/comfort ratings that you can afford. (Maybe Goodyear Assurance or Pirelli Cinturato p7 AS). They get good reviews for ride comfort at moderate price.

    Did anyone go 225/50/17?

I misstated the spacers in the back are 5mm. I tried 15 mm but got a little rub on some bumps, 5mm doesn’t do much, so the 245 45 17s are perfect—-without spacers. The Generals altimax rt 45 are a high rated tire for ride and comfort and low noise, very close to Michelins but better price...

    Did anyone go 225/50/17?

245-45-17 with General Altimax RT 45s, square set up, good smooth ride and good handling, good price. I went this way and not looking back. Went with 15mm spacer in the back. All 4 fits the wheel well nice with no rub. I was wanting a more comfortable ride and got it with this set up/and tires...
