Welcome 👋 While the BMW 3.0 diesel is very good, I agree, you need help if you are using that as a fun car! 😋 An E86 on the other hand, is a thing of beauty 😍 Any particular reason why you want an auto? They turn up on here every so often, so if you are patient, you will get a good one.

If you want sporty, then the Bilstein B12 kit is usually the choice. I fitted to mine and I love it. I don't get why people think it will be harsh. It really is not.

Just an observation as someone who ran a 530e as a company car until recently. On the plus side, they are comfortable, rapid and handle well. Alas, that is all the positives. It had rubbish range, just over 250 miles in the real world (stupid small tank) with the electric motor element...

A good tool kit will be a wise investment. Believe it or not, Halfords Professional kits are rather good. I have had their 150 or so piece kit for something like 15 years and it is still going strong. Frequently on sale also.

You really want an 86mm 16 flute cap to sort the housing. It spreads the load better than applying it all through the top "nut". They are usually around £10 - £12 on Amazon.

In my experience that is ECP doing their markup before they give you the "discount". It will be exactly the same oil, just different retail practices.

May be a daft couple of suggestions. Dust covers or simply you have a faulty damper?

Rather than spending money on alterations, which you won't get back come sale time, why not just sell it and buy one you really want? Oh and I like the metallic blue one 😊
