US to EU rear fog light conversion

Presumably you're in the US, in which case you don't need to worry about legal requirements? On our side of the pond, we have to have a rear fog tell-tale lit in the dash whenever the rear fog is lit, separate and distinct from any front fog tell tale. (They're also always amber not green, but...

    SOLD E85 3.0i Manual £2,750

Well-written ad and, I think, a keen price for a good colour combo with what should be very simple fixes. This shouldn't hang around long, even in February.

    Drying carpet :(

I imagine it's there for road noise sound deadening, but if that didn't bother you could try it. Hard to reinstate if you don't like it though!

    Drying carpet :(

To clarify, I'm not expecting it to dry in a day. The car's SORN for winter and won't be going anywhere for the next two months. It was more that I have other things I need to spend my spare time on right now, so if it was going to require multiple days stripping and reinstalling all the...

    Drying carpet :(

Brilliant, thanks enuff_Zed! I managed to half-fill my wet vac, squeezing the foam of the rear section and sucking up the water that came out. Now done what you suggest with a dozen or so microfibre towels under the carpet at the rear . Will keep swapping those out until they stop coming...

    Drying carpet :(

One of my roof drain buckets was clogged (at the top), which let water into the car when it overflowed. That's now unclogged and draining correctly but my carpet is sodden on the passenger side, both back and front. Aside from removing the seats, does anyone know how much interior trim...

    E85 2003 ride height

Mine's parked on a slope and immobile, so I can't pop out and measure to help you, but wheel size won't matter. The tyre sidewall is greater on smaller wheels, with tyre sizes specified so the overall diameter is the same whether you have 16, 17 or 18". The real ride height determinant will be...

NO LONGER NEEDED E85 6 cylinder manual, max £2k budget

I dunno, I don't think your that far out on price. Keep an eye out and you might well be able to get a 2.2 for low £2k's, especially in the height of winter and considering you've not said you're chasing low miles, high spec or mint condition. Less even, if it needs some jobs doing. Bargains...

    Suspension issues?

I wonder if old top mounts can also compress. If so, it wouldn't be just the springs that can determine the ride height. Regardless, the correct ride height for sports suspension and 17s is 590 +/- 10mm front and 576 +/- 10mm rear. Note the measuring method. 33 00 Rear axle - ride height...

    E85 pre-facelift headlights - 3.0 vs rest - what are the differences?

As x-driver says, they couldn't sell a new car with Xenons here if it didn't have headlight washers. Also we don't have window stickers, so guess Tncdrew you're from the US?

M54 engine replacement - final stages, hopefully! .

Only a requirement to volunteer that information if a trader. The lesson there is we should do our own checks when buying privately, and/or make a point of asking and getting the response in writing, if important to us! Seems odd until you remember that not having a Cat N doesn't mean a car...

    Intermittent High-Beam

Not to spoil the theory but flashing is by the halogen bulb, even with bi-Xenons.

    E85 roof and windows

I've only managed to code it so they don't go back up from the half-down position. No option that I could find to get them to open all the way. (That said, if you code "comfort access" and open it with the key before getting in, they do go all the way down and stay down then. But note the...

Seen any interesting/decent E85's for sale?

With so many new BMWs being auto only and no option for manual, I'd have thought that would decrease what it's worth not add to it!

    Programming key fob

The EWS (immobiliser) probably needs to be coded to accept the key. I've never had to do it myself but search for threads here and on E46 forums.
