Are you sure the comfort pack is fitted to the car, do the other features work ?

The fault Is likely in the sensor, it is supposed to trigger on impact, what is the mechanism that does that. I damaged the sensor on my Jag, it was a long tube and I had dented it which caused a fault, no idea what BMW use.

Sounds OK for a 4 cyl to me, you say mapped to 2.8i, likely 240hp but could be anything, there should be no problem with a well maintained car at that mileage. My only question is, is the engine build the same on a 2.0i as the 2.8i, is it the same turbo, has it got same pistons, high performance...

The G29 buying S/H is an alternative to the Jaguar F Type but more practical than the roadster. Don't compare it to the E85 it's a big step forward, I had 2 they were great cars and if I wanted a fun car I would buy another, at 20 plus yrs old they need plenty of looking after.

It is a very good GT, comfortable, big boot, plenty of space, looks good, if you want a front engined roadster it fits that well, if it's the looks you want the 2.0 will suit. the M40i is as fast as most want. After 6 yrs very few reliability issues have been seen which looks good for the future

It's easy to get the rear to step out pulling away at a junction, both times Ive done it the traction control has caught it before it hit the opposite kerb, our other car is AWD electric, you can boot that at a junction or roundabout, not the M40.

An independant workshop would probably do the engine mounts for half that, wheel alignment too

Gas Bonnet struts fail gradually to the point that the bonnet fails to stay open, at that point replace, then it's an easy DIY fix possibly aftermarket replacements, or pay the dealer to do it. It's sort of an easy diagnosis either the bonnet stays up or it doesn't.

A repaired car that's been written off will sell for about 2/3 retail price if you plan to keep it yourself after repair fine but as a prospect for resale it's not good.

I'm sure they could do that, do they bother because there are loads on untaxed cars on the road, any one been caught?
