Lots of threads on this. It's easier to remove the pipe from in the engine bay (some guides do it from the footwell - no idea why). It's very easy to remove - then there's a sponge at either end of the pipe. I've gone with half a sponge at the firewall end as taking both out is a bit... loud...

All ordered. £477 for all four shocks and springs. Obviously not high end stuff but OEM level is good enough for me. I suspect mine was running a mix of M Sport and non-M Sport (was M Sport optioned from factory and the rear springs were rusty as) so at least it's back to how it should be.

Thanks for that. Apparently there’s an autodoc offer on where the B4 are about £150 for all 4. Hard to ignore that!
