What have you done to your car today?

Replaced the battery in the other key - took me longer than the first and had to have 2 goes at soldering. I'm an idiot.

Let's show off our other toys here, besides the Z

if he has a photo try the Google image search? it basically image matches - obvs not the easiest if it looked standard but you can zoom in and pick details out.

Hello, just paid the deposit on a Z4.

True but I had my AI store all the data points as a baseline so I can compare in the future (🤓). But your idea definitely better for general use

Hello, just paid the deposit on a Z4.

I kept copying and pasting the German language stuff into AI and let it translate it for me. Saved a lot of hassle!

Hello, just paid the deposit on a Z4.

Not sure if you still need it but I followed this guide and it worked fine. https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/installing-bmw-standard-tools.1322014/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic

    Should I be worried?

Mine has 122k and not had water pump done but I've had it done as pre-emptive so by that reckoning, you've got at least another 30k before it needs doing ;)

    N52 Vanos Check Valves

Ah, I see - quite right. INPA can't do that bit :)

    Discounted E85 Mods4Cars Module

I bought $220 worth of DISA, got £60 import tax. Total cost : £240 which I think isn't bad for proper DISA. Obvs you can get 'em for £30 off Amazon but not the quality I'd go for. But yeah, some stuff doesn't get taxed at all - pot luck I think.

    N52 Vanos Check Valves

If you get INPA (or similar) software hooked up, that'll tell you if they're working properly or not which might negate the need for spanner work. I was thinking about cleaning my VANOS up but then looking at the diags, it's in rude health so no need to worry about it. Well, from a 'is it...

What have you done to your car today?

Thanks for that - I'll give ISTA a go next time. It's the Mrs' laptop that she barely uses so not too fussed about ruining it!

    Coupe Headliner Replacement w/Alcantara

Very interested in this as I was thinking of doing exactly the same. I've got some droop in the headlining so it needs doing and I'm a big fan of alcantara. I didn't really want to put the standard stuff in even though I expected it to be a bit easier to install 'cos of the stretch. So no, I...

What have you done to your car today?

I got INPA setup tonight and had a little session with it. 1. Windows 11 is shite. I'm a Mac person (well, a Unix person really but I use Mac) and going back to Windows felt like time travel. In a bad way. 2. INPA is fairly easy to setup if you know a little bit about tech 3. I bought a...

What have you done to your car today?

Personally I'd change it whilst it's out. We know OEM ones fail and the clones are generally shite - that's why I went for these 'lifetime DISAs' as at least they're handbuilt by someone that deals in them. I replaced my large one as it's easy and checked INPA just now (I'll post about it in a...
