I was chatting to a BMW service manager the other day and mentioned that I am thinking about fitting non run-flats to my Z4. He agreed that it is a reasonable idea but that I should check that it is acceptable to my insurance company.
3-1 then.
Oh well there's always Goodyear run flats.
I'm buying a set of Goodyear F1 Assymetric 2s for my Z4. Previously I had these fitted to my Abarth and they were much quieter than the Pirelli P Zeros. Great in the wet and dry too. Worked really well on track.
They also have a protective lip which helps prevent kerbing.
70 miles yesterday top down, mainly motorway, -3C. A lot of salt flying around but ok.
Me ( and the wife) are way too old to be considered remotely cool. (45 years ago I wasn't remotely cool). W****r? Who cares? Show-off? Probably.
However, what's the point of buying a soft-top and...
Cold?
Drove 70 miles top-down back home from the BMW dealer this morning.
Heated seats are great.
I'm sure the rest of me will be fine when the frost bite disappears.
Got my 2007 2.5si in November from Astle BMW in Scunthorpe. I originally wanted Montego blue but bought a titanium silver with the right spec. Never liked silver cars but it looks great when freshly cleaned. Looks even better now I've had the wheels powder coated black chrome.
However I scared...
I've just had The Wheel Specialist at Burton coat my wheels in black chrome. Probably very similar to shadow chrome.
The company's premises are spotless and they did a superb job. Very highly recommended.
I'm not too bothered about them looking dirty, they just go a nice matt finish.
