Lovely blue Z4M Coupe at Bicester Motion yesterday evening for the Intercooler Concours event, numberplate starting J888. (You'd gone before I manage to move the 3.0si also on a J888 plate next to you for a picture. :D)

I believe if you get the intake pipe/sound generator pipe it just bolts up. There's a diaphragm between the intake airflow and the pipe to the cabin, so I'd be surprised if you could DIY it easily. Not just a Y pipe going to the cabin, that would mess with the MAF sensor readings!

Mine came without any foam in, I've added foam at the firewall end (from a kitchen sponge, looked about the right density). I reckon it's probably 1/2 to 2/3 of the original foam. Sounds good, doesn't blow my ears out with the roof up at 4500rpm.

Given the effort Pondy's put into it and the different curve balls to get it finished to such a high standard, perhaps DNA now stands for Do Not Attempt.

Had it in for an alignment, everything adjusted nicely and it's all looking good now. So used to the good weather I left it there this morning with the roof down. Thankfully they spotted it and put the roof up before it rained this afternoon 😹 (No complaining about it from the technician today...

Much better but not stiffer, at least in suggested 3/4 front, 1 1/2 from soft rear settings. B4 is a less progressive damping I think, certainly with the M-Sport slightly shorter spring. It’s almost like the damper is slightly compressed and thus only has a stiff damping effect. Haven’t had B6/8...
