I already filed them off before fitting (read elsewhere on the internet). I did not take anywhere near the amount off those silver ones though, mine haven’t touched at all. The plates had some bubbling under the powder coating so stripped it back and repainted and lacquered.

I have done something I have wanted to for ages, fitted a front upper strut brace. A genuine factory one from an E46 M3 with the M top covers and nut caps. It was a straight fit, really easy and not expensive (second hand obviously). Looking forward to testing it over the weekend.

My rear hard lines have been mentioned the last couple of MOT’s. I had a good look whilst it was on the lift at MOT last month and they aren’t too bad yet. I’m still planning on doing them and fitting some braided hoses at the same time over winter.
