Rust behind alloy's on hub

I used some chrome paint from B and Q. Seems to withstand the heat well. Just make sure to give the disc a good clean before sparying on. Also used similiar brand paint, (the colour looked titanium) for the calipers, as the front is alloy and rear steel. They start to look untidy after a short...

    The instant service

Does anyone kow if the engine management is driver adaptable on the manual transmission. Seeing that BMW and Rovers paths crossed at one time, i know my MGTF eng. mang. could be reset by giving the throttle five application with the ignition on, resulting in a more lively and perky performance...

    cover

I bought a Stormforce cover off e-bay. It is E89 specific, which fits really well with mirror pockets in the right place. Has the feel of trying to fold a large sheet of cardboard at first, but does the job. About £150. Rolls up into case about the size you are allowed to cary onboard a...

    Roof unlock warning

My colleagues car a 23i 2012 6k mileage, has been getting over the last few days roof unlock warning and dong. Starting to drive her nuts. Also finds can't open windows whilst the warnings on. Had the car 5 months but its beeen the first time she has had the opportunity to lower the roof. Got...

    Changing Rear Brake Pads

I'm just waiting for my one year warranty to run out in June before i start fiddling with my rear brakes. If i can't do it the complicated way might have to invest in the Autel tool. Can be had for half that price if you want to take a chance on it being supplied from China or Hong Kong. I'm...

Angels eyes replace bulb with HID?

I see the angel eyes use H8 bulbs. I have some cheapo chinese HID units i bought for £30 delivered, which i used on a MGTF. Just wondered as i haven't looked yet i assume they are standard bulb that get quite hot, therefore the hids might be ok. Or would there be a fault monitoring problem...

    E89 - Problems 3 weeks in

If the seal is split at the bottom then that should loose the water out. Think you will find like mine its the rear seal. If the units are splitting then thats another design or manufacturing fault.

'Dancing' Windows - There IS a new fix!

Strange, my 09 23i main windows close and the small follow about a second later, probably about 1or 2 inch difference in travel.

How to retrofit FL indicator on pre FL

Can it be pushed out from the inside if the wheel arch plastic is removed? I'm a bit suprised BMW aren't being a bit mean and not supply these for a while :) as its one of the few obvious differences from the earlier model. The original indicator does look a bit lost.

    Roof rattle

Another attempt at getting rid of a few last noises, as others are noticable after you cure a few. The black plastic trim in the boot where the boot light is located. If you grab hold of the plastic and push its a bit creaky. So i removed the holding pins and dropped a small amount of engine...

    Rear view mirror.

Only really noticed today with the top down, but get lots of reflections of the sky and lamp posts in mirror. As though there are two images, one from behind and one from the roof area, making the mirror blurred. Tried dipping and adjusting, same effect. Barely see traffic behind. Looks like...

    Roof rattle

http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r624/bigendbob/IMG_0572_zpsfd3d2177.jpg[/IMG] This has made the most significant noise reduction with the top up. The sticky pads are from Tesco pound shelf. They come in different sizes. Also stuck here for good measure for when the top is down...

Just about had it. Selling my car within this summer

It drives me nuts when i park well out of the way of others only to have some twazzle park next to me. I park at work at an angle at the end of the parking area. Today a part timer pulls up in the space next to me when the car park is empty. Only to open his door, say hello to me, then realises...

    Roof rattle

I've seemed to have cured the last of my boot area creeks and noises. Stuck on some sticky pads of foam on the boot buffers, the two plastic pins that stick down attached to the boot. When the boot closes they rub on the two plastic discs the sizes of ten pence pieces. The buffers have a sort of...
