Sorry cant remember as it was about 2 years ago I did it.... I just remember it was pretty straight forward. You do need to purchase the dongle that goes in the obd port, but the Bimmercode app was free.

So its not without its issues. For some reason the car wont load , or find all the tracks on the ipod. I used the gen 6 ipod in a 2016 BMW X5 with no issues, all the tracks showed up on the cars screen, but when i plug it into my later 2019 Z4 and my latest 23 plate X5 it doesnt show or play...

In my car I have codded out the ASD, I personally found it too intrusive, I have also coded in the B+W settings which do improve the sound , all done via Bimmercode. Didn't find any negative impact. All good. :driving: :thumbsup:
