    M market watch

M359 wheels from the e9x comp and 1M. I’m not too clued up on how to tell if these wheels are reps or not though.

    Scottish Z4M Clubsport build

Cracking build and a comprehensive overhaul. Shame Nitron didn’t have the top mounts figured out first time around, typical problem for low volume parts bin cars though. At least it’s being sorted.

What did you do to your Z4M today?

Yeah, I should probably try another! As for the ding, I checked the car that parks in the spot next to mine but no signs of paint or damage on theirs, it also looks like the rear door is lower than the ding. No odea where it was picked up though as I haven’t parked it anywhere since I polished...

What did you do to your Z4M today?

Went for a run up to the Col de l’Iseran via Moncenisio to escape the relentless heat. Unfortunately so did half of Europe. Still, nice to get out for a long drive. Only bad thing was I found the mother of all door dings right by the mirror. It’s broken the paint and doesn’t look like an easy...

    Supercharger-like whine from engine? 2006 Z4M

Sounds the same as mine. I’ve just been through a few videos I’ve made during various episodes of paranoia, dating back to 2014, (from around 37k to 84k) and it’s had a similar whine all along. I’ve just put it down to the PAS circuit or the drag on various components-pulleys. No idea if...

BMW Z4M S54 - slight hesitation/stutter when you press the accelerator from idle.

Thanks for the offer, but there’s no need to trouble yourself. Seeing as it’s not a big issue for me and I have little to no space to work on the car, it’ll be a while before I get to it.

To sell or not to sell....that is the question

Then I guess the only question to think about is whether the type of car you have will affect the enjoyment you get out of participating in the classic car world. At the moment you have something very unique and a real conversation starter that drives interaction. Would something more ‘run of...

To sell or not to sell....that is the question

If you enjoy the scene and events surrounding it, why not keep it until the end of the season and get as much out of it as possible. Go to as many shows as you can and make a few good memories with it. After that you’ll probably know if the pleasure of doing that is likely to be a long term...

BMW Z4M S54 - slight hesitation/stutter when you press the accelerator from idle.

😅 no the map was done at Regal in Southampton (I think you might have pointed me in their direction?) as back then the Evolve map wasn’t any good- didn’t allow for heel/toe and some suggested it was a tweaked limp mode map. The bogging is very very rare and not something that bothers me enough...

BMW Z4M S54 - slight hesitation/stutter when you press the accelerator from idle.

Interesting… what software did you use for data logging? I’ve got an app which reads via OBD so can get timing iirc, but I can’t recall seeing anything for the knock sensor values. How did you test the resistance of them? I assume you used the new ones as a reference reading, do you remember...

WANTED S54 csl style carbon airbox

Great vid that really highlights the differences. I was impressed with the Gruppe, then the airbox came in. Genuinely skin tingling stuff!

    M market watch

Just had a quick look on autotrader to see where prices were and noticed there are only 7 Z4M coupes currently for sale. Must be the least I’ve ever seen. I wonder what the reason is, the season (though there are 16 ‘summer friendly’ roadsters for sale), they’re finally being understood and...

    WANTED Z4MR

I think it’s fair enough if you want to do the bearings for piece of mind, but by that same token, I don’t think you can knock down a 50k car for not having had it done. Same goes for the vanos imo. As for the diff, a bit of misting is of no real concern, and it’s one of those things that I’d...

What did you do to your Z4M today?

Thanks, it shines up pretty well for almost 84/85k but pictures hide a thousand sins! Unfortunately it’s definitely not as mint as it looks in that picture. The upside of that is that I’m far less concerned with any little marks it picks up and I enjoy using it far more as a result. I’ll see...

What did you do to your Z4M today?

Like Simon, I drove it for the first time in ages. I’d planned a longer drive but traffic was appalling so cut it short and called it a maintenance drive, just to keep things moving.
