That's a normal S54 engine sound, all be it yours does seem a little more pronounced. I'm pretty sure that is just the vanos oil pump pumping the oil at 115 bar as it should.
Do you know when the last oil change was done? As perhaps the oil is the incorrect weight/ grade and cavitating.
I'm a bit stumped then.
With one wire going to the ecu, one can only assume the signals on set, resume, etc are sent in pulses from the gubbins inside the stalk.
Cruise can't activated below 20mph so not sure if a static test is going to reveal much unfortunately.
Good spot.
OP, did you lift the flap on the connector before pushing them home?
As they are 100% not fully seated. I don't think they're making contact with the pins on the switch.
Yes 12v at the yellow purple, it should come from pin 27. Black brown is earth ftom pin 31. Use the multimeter to measure voltage between the yellow purple and black brown- which is what it sounds like you've done.
I'm sure there is more than one violet wire though as read of exactly this issue...
Right well, I spent long time on this today. Coding unfortunately didn't seem as straightforward as I was expecting.
In conclusion, for LHD cars, pin 49 of the LCM goes to the LHS fog light and pin 38 of the LCM goes to the brake force display - which is basically the right fog light... and on...
This usually happens when people splice the wrong wires in the LCM as there are more than 1 of each.
As above double check pin numbers to make sure you've spliced the correct pins.
If you have, then drop your steering trim, disconnect the cruise stalk and using a multimeter, verify that you've...
Hi guys,
I have my ITV test on Monday for importing my RHD 2006 Z4M into Spain.
I've sorted my front lights out by swapping out the projectors.
However I have just realised the rear fog light is on the right side, not the left.
So my question is, can this be swapped with coding? And if so...
Sorry you missed out, he said there was a lot of interest!
Yes it was a Febi part but a just a reboxed genuine SGF/ OE part. Same with the centre shaft bearing 🙂.
