What have you done to your car today?
I did share this on FB but I thought I'll add here too. I had my interior retrimmed: seats, door cards and all gaiters.
Just need to do the steering wheel now

They look really good what sort of costs are involved in something like that? I've toyed with the idea before, but never done anything about it.

Inspired by the E89 VO Pure Traction design? Or just coincidence?

Varies pending what you get done, I would suggest starting price £1,200 for doors and cards and allow 4 to 6 days from Tappers in Birmingham but it varies a lot from timing and costs between companies.

if you are doing multiple cars then sure DIY makes perfect sense, it's not the case for me but a one off then it's why for me it would likley be better just getting a pro to do it rather than spend £400+ on all the stuff needed to do it once properly.True-Blue wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 3:16 pmOn what basis is it better off spending a few extra quid to pay a professional?SonnyA85 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 12:47 pmi bought a cheap polisher off aldi but people are saying it spins too fast and to only use it on speed 1 otherwise friction will burn the paint. i now plan on just using it for waxing the car after a clay bar. i think clay is enough to sort out the minor issue of stuff stuck to the car. the paint i'm not overly bothered about. i may invest in a proper DA polisher in future but it's probably better off just spending the few quid extra and getting it professionally done. polishers aren't cheap the decent ones and you normally need 2 of them as well to do the smaller parts.
I’ve got two machines and have corrected many cars, I’d have spent a fortune paying a professional to do them and missed out on the satisfaction of doing it myself.

Rldee007, looks fresh! The Valencia Orange / Pure Traction design has always worked for me. One thing I can’t quite get my head round are the door cards, specifically the leather panels. Got any close ups on those?
Four Alfa's and a Ducati later, I've turned to the dark side...

As my car is grey (I normally get cars with vibrant or bright colours) I wanted to spice it up. I wasn't happy with the dark interior and the standard seats weren't "sexy" enough. The orange works well with the grey and picks-up and highlights the orange indicator features.
What do you specifically want to see?
The split line car rearward of the handle is pretty much the same but due to the continue of this split sew but the grey curves up. Retrospectively I would of continued the grey down to the original split line as it looks a little busy. I can live with it because it is quite subtle in a busy part of the door.
I do love it and think it was money well spent.

Understand your retrospective idea of continuing the grey along the split; it’s what I was wondering about It’s a part of the door that’s mostly covered by the dash when closed anyway, and doesn’t look bad

Thank you, but doesn't look like train wreck and like you said it is semi hidden when the door is closed.

Yesterday washed the car and got rid of the Sahara and hoovered the hood, made a big difference. Cleaned in under the hood window, got out lots of muck and cleaned away the green with a tooth brush. Hoovered the interior and buffed it up. Started waxing the outside, got the bonnet and boot done then it rained, oh well, do the rest another day.
