My new 70mm bonnet badge arrived today so planning on replacing mine at the weekend. Is it just a case of removing one of the kidney grilles, using a 10mm socket on the securing nuts then swapping the badges over? Ta.

Yes that's how I did mine, but the nuts are a bit fiddly to get on as they cut a thread onto the plastic posts on the new badge.

I've put a tiniest bit of silicone under the new badge, probably not necessary, but it would hurt to loose such an expensive piece of plastic :D

Didn't have any silicone to hand so used a couple of small strips of thin 3M trim tape underneath the badge. The old nuts were tricky to remove but got them off eventually. Chuffed with the results, new badge and old badge below:-

Changed the belt, tensioner pulley and alternator clutch pulley, fairly easy once I’d worked out the right tools for the job, the parts were cheap from Autodoc and the tools I bought didn’t break the bank. Give or take it cost the same as an hours labour at an Indy and it took less than an hour to do with no drama :)

Sorn and oil service today. I have most maintenance tasks printed as PDFs from TIS but keep returning to these easy instructions viewtopic.php?t=16657 when changing the oils.

EDIT - Just wanted to point out that if you’re going to try this you need to make sure the sponge material is properly wet and don’t apply very much pressure at all. This stuff is abrasive and can ruin leather if you’re not very careful. :!:

I’ve had a PM asking about it, so thought it was worth clarifying

Started to clean it, 45 mins with a magic sponge, some water and a Microfibre…
