Someones cornered the market. :(
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Tango22 wrote: Wed Jun 15, 2022 2:09 pm Replaced the cigarette lighter with a dual USB charger. Easy enough to do, remove centre trim panel, undo wiring then remove lighter and wiring. The existing hole needed enlarging slightly by means of a sharp craft knife, then the dual charger fitted in. Connect the black and red wires up (had to cut the existing round metal connectors that came fitted to the USB charger wiring then fit and crimp slim bullet connectors in order for it to then fit into the car wiring loom connector).

The cigarette lighter as we know is permanently 'live' and powered all the time so anything you leave plugged into it could potentially drain your battery to a degree. This particular USB adapter has a small on/off switch which allows you to keep items connected but then switch on and off at your will - it illuminates in blue LED to show its powered. Perfect.........works a treat.

Fitted the GROM via the CD changer cables. NO MORE RADIO. This is going to improve my enjoyment of the E86 by about 33 times

The now remedied situation reminds me of another car I had aquired in the past. Its stereo was cassette n had Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album physically stuck inside it so for the first few weeks of ownership that is all I could listen to. Honestly, Id have prefered that to the last few weeks of skipping away from mindless chat every 30 seconds.

Going to go for drive right now with some classic drivers tunage.
Current:
Z4 E86 3.0 si Sport, Ti Au, Ag 108s, PS5's

Previously:
Mazda MX5 NA, 1.8, red
Mitsubishi FTO, V6, red, heavily modded; Veilside kit, EVO spoiler, HKS etc

Yes I know what you mean, I gave up listening to the radio back in the days of Noel Edmonds 'welly boot competition' and Terry Wogan. :headbang: Best thing I ever did was to buy a cassette player.

New wheel badges look great, smarten the look up so much for such a small change!

I was going to clean the car but resisted as rain was due... glad i did as it looks like it was full of sand!! So instead spent the afternoon eradicating rattles from the plastic trim around the centre glove box, behind seat trim and also around the cup holders. Although seems there's still one left to find!

Thursday evening and Friday morning I gave my Zed a good cleanup ahead of the Bicester scramble on Fathers Day. 24hrs later and it’s soaked in rain and Saharan sand. Deep joy 🥹

Neens76, I wasn't going mad then!! Your car looks stunningly shiny though, glad you got a pic of it before the rain molested it!! :headbang:

Thanks. Yeah, buffs up nice, and I’ve yet to have paint correction etc., carried out.

And no, sand filled rain. Result 🤦🏻‍♂️

Used a drill attachment with a buffing sponge and 3M Finnese-it to polish my headlights. Massive improvement! Car is tucked up in my garage but will post photos tomorrow.

Very pleased with the result.

Partner’s car, project shoestring..

Has now gone from having a broken Diff, broken roof, shot rear brakes…

…to being a functioning daily driver, with a working roof (thanks Alan  ) and an advisory free MOT pass this morning.

Happy days & happy Mrs
