Thanks bud. Your project is on another level. Amazing how quickly you have turned the car around since the little incident.

MOT and oil change. Both went splendidly. Not one advisory.

I’m interested in the spray for a discoloured leather steering wheel… not Z4 though, can these be bought in a rattle can and other colour options?

Thanks Tomgreen413 & Mre75_bim.

my Coupe is on the 108s and after much consideration my mind has moved away from Rep CSL alloys and l think I'm going to go for something like the 5 spoke blades or similar..........those CSL wheels do look great BUT.....EVERYONE seems to stick them on.so I think I'll be a little different

Once these are done, suspension, brakes, engine / cooling refresh next.
After around 2 weeks of pain correction/ detailing she's done. (Well almost, just a couple of tiny marks I need to revisit) I'm not sure how many hours of work but believe me , this was a serious challenge but I'm over the moon with the results, just goes to show that so long as you've got a good clear coat to work with anything is possible. I've still got the engine bay,, interior, wheels and inside the wheel Wells to do , plus a new set of front fogs to install. Once these are done, suspension, brakes, engine / cooling refresh next.

Fitted new control arms today. Saved by the old whitworth spanner from those bloody 21mm nuts. At least the new ones are 19 and 22mm. I went with Delphi in the end and they are superb quality.

Couple of hours in the garage this afternoon, completed the front B12 install… we’ll just double checked all the torque settings really and popped the wheels back on.
Then, onto the rears. Rear drivers side was dead easy, little bit of a faff with the E89 boot trim, but not to bad.
Rear passenger side seems a bit of a PITA; gaining sufficient movement on the relevant trim pieces to access the top of the strut is really bloody annoying. Feel I must be missing a clip somewhere, I’ll have another look in the morning

B12 installation all complete.
The rear boot trim is a bit of a faff, but fresh eyes this morning spotted a couple of extra ‘push-clips’ (not sure what the correct terminology is for these) which, once removed, made moving the trim much easier.
Was going to take the car for a quick blast to test it out, but apparently we have other plans

Managed to retrieve the roof motor after 2 hours of cursing and jumping in an out of the boot. Turns out, it was a classic case of a flooded motor.
Next steps are to remove the motor and clean it up. The bolts are fully siezed so had to park it for now as the Alan key from some IKEA furniture I'm using isn't cutting it even with copious WD40!

Replaced the failed washer fluid pump and replaced the filter while I was at it; at about 50p it was an expense I could just about justify
Four Alfa's and a Ducati later, I've turned to the dark side...
