Sanded down a spare brushed Aluminium centre console, hoping to get a nice “polished” finish. Only partly successful as the metal was pitted in places, so put on a base coat primer and ordered some paint instead.

Yeah the new one just pushes on, you just need to give it a bit of a thud at the end so it ‘seats’ properly. I just used the palm of my hand and gave it a whack, job done.
Perfect, thanks for the reply and helpful info!!

Today, I tried cleaning up my (new to me) Z4's steering wheel with some alcohol wipes and elbow grease. I'm pretty happy with the results.

Facelifted the front and rear.... the pre-facelift halogens to facelift bi-xenons with led angel eyes was probably the trickiest part, followed by tracking down all the parts for the front bumper

Now I have to spoil the look by adding a number plate

Next job: finally get around to installing my aero skirts

Today I replaced my standard gear knob in my E85 with a genuine ZHP one. Massively improves the gearchange throw and feel, nice and weighty compared to the original one. Bargain price too from a BMW dealer selling on eBay, £59 delivered next day.

I just did the exact same thing! I suspect by your quoted price, from the same eBay seller too :)

Thought it was a good day to clean all the glass & rubber seals today (it helps if you can put the roof into comfort access mode), soft scrubbing with some car shampoo & nylon brush followed by some Gummi Pfledge treatment

SMF fitted today as my dmf was absolutely f#cked!!! Initial thoughts "my god I hope this beds in!!" Above about 1700 rpm it's all good but definitely has more vibration under that. Still, it's a 1000 times better than what came out!!
