Hoping I've found my new race car subject to inspection at Gary Feakins next week, it's a BMW E30 320i (2 litre, six cylinder).

First impressions are great, it's very tidy (maybe too nice), road registered, well finished and an original Alpine White car too. I will be racing it in the Production BMW and possibly the odd Trackday Championship round too (shared with a 2nd driver) all going well. I was able to give it a short test drive, it's not quick (140bhp) but that's not the point, all the cars will/should be the same. :)

Assuming all goes well expect to see a piccie of my three BMW fleet soon..... 8) :driving:

Dammit Dave I had my eye on this only yesterday in the pistonheads classifieds! Haha! You don't need a 2nd driver do you?

:D I missed out on a few before this one, they do seem to sell quickly. Worth speaking to a very nice black one that has just come up for sale.

A 2nd driver in the Trackday Championship could be an option, Tom from here may share a couple of rounds through the year and as he is a novice it would mean we could share in the Trackday Trophy instead. Once I've bought the car we can certainly talk.

The inspection has gone well, relatively minor things to sort out, dampers to be serviced and re-valved etc. Exciting, hope to collect it later in the month and have booked a trackday at Brands Hatch in December.

Well after some thinking I have bought the black car and will be entering the PBMW/Toyo Tyres 2017 season. Watch out for the black back-marker as you come past Dave lol
Never done any proper racing before so definitely a novice, my plan will be to not qualify last, finish all the races, and to try and overtake someone during a race lol :driving:

Excellent, nice that you got my car in the background in one of your photos 8)

Not sure if we'll see you at Brands with the date mix up but we'll catch up soon before next season starts. We could do a 2 car team in something like Trackday Trophy or the MGCC 4 hour at the end of the season. :driving:

Can't sleep, picking up my race car and trailer tomorrow morning, woo hoo!

Gary Feakins Racing have carried out various jobs over the last few weeks including damper rebuild, revalve and new springs, corner weight, brake bias valve and a few other little bits to get the car ready for a trackday at Brands a week on Monday. :)
