What are peoples thoughts on this, over priced, money pit waiting to swallow you up? I’m tempted to take a look.

Assume were talking about the £16.5k coupe.
I woudn't be worried about it being a money pit as it has had the Vanos and bearing shells replaced. As long as the SH is all in place as it should be, it seems like a very good price with the eventuri and v3's on.
The only issue is if you do a lot of miles, it might be difficult to move on. If you plan to keep it, I think its a very attractive proposition to get an M coupe

KWv3s
Vibratechnic engine mounts
Rod bearings at 107k
Vanos - complete rebuild
RTABs and limiters
No satnav
Full recent geo setup
Generally a well looked after example that needs a little TLC. She drives nicely and is very tight.

I think this is a fair price for a really nice, clean, stock Z4MC. Some people are selling them too cheap and don't fully realise what they have etc.Mr Tidy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 4:01 amFair enough, but I can't help thinking that advert won't expire for a long time at that price!Gwest44 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 12:45 am And another also without PDC but this time with proper tyres - obviously the fact these return less than 20 mpg coupled with the current fuel prices is bringing a few to market
Personally I prefer to attach a photo of the ad rather than a link on the basis the link always expires at some point.
I don't agree that the fuel prices are pushing people into selling though. Maybe in a small number of cases, but fuel prices will drop soon and we're not talking a 4-litre V8 here. Also, people are covering less mileage on average as we have the Work from Home/Hybrid working culture here to stay now. My mileage has dropped massively because of this.

Can someone advise what is a fair price for a 40k mile roadster. With decent service history? Thanks Wayne

Most Z4M's unless super low mileage generally have fairly complete history as they are usually enthusiast owned. Large gaps between services or differing from the service schedule might be a concern though. Running in oil change at 1200 miles a priority.
With preventive measures such as rod bearing shells & vanos rebuilds being carried out earlier & earlier by some owners a lower mileage example is always preferable. You'll never know how a car was treated prior, especially on warm up so shells are a tricky one to gauge. Some look tired at 60k, others go on over 100k.
Options list/spec & owners can contribute slightly to price, as can colour. Hoods being mohair are very durable but motors unreliable unless drain plugs kept clear.
Dealers are pricing roadsters very high currently but I've seen some great listings on this forum.
What happened about the 53k miles Interlagos Blue you enquired about in Cornwall. Now on Auto Trader & looked a fair price I thought at circa £16000?
If the one at 40k is well spec'd, in a desirable colour combination, consistent history with wear/tear items addressed such as tyres/brakes then top money would be around £18000 I'd say. Mods don't always add value but with backboxes & intakes expensive on these cars it's always a bonus.

My Z4M is going up for sale soon, it has 44,000 miles. This is a difficult car to price to be honest. Forums are a great resource for getting an idea about the value of your car but but ultimately it is worth exactly what somebody else is willing to pay. Not a penny more, not a penny less. If you want a relatively quick sale then £18000 sounds reasonable. If you are happy to wait for someone willing to pay for the right colour/spec/condition then ask a bit more. With high performance cars you can get a great return on your money if you are able to wait. I really struggled to sell my Cayman, I was minutes away from lowering the price when got a phone call. The car sold for close to asking price the very next day.
Mine is mechanically perfect and is in pretty good nick so I'll be going in at about 19K ono. If I get no bites at the cherry after a month or so then I'll drop the price.

Im not ready to sell just yet. I want a specific type of 911 but need the money from the zed to fund it. My plan is to buy something cheap as a bit of a stop gap, maybe a sporty clio or an r53 cooper s then sell the zed.

Find it very strange that no one has bought my old car yet after 6 months of being on the market. It's in great condition and has had a whole chunk of money and maintenance spent on it over the 7 years I had it. If anyone is interested in that car, buy it with confidence.
