My parents are looking for one and have asked me for a suggestion. I get a feeling that the novelty may wear off. Anyone selling one in nearly new/good condition and not too far from West London?

Give it a couple of months and you'll find loads of 'used once' or 'hardly used' examples for sale on eBay

See if anybody rents them ? then if they actually use it they will have a better idea of what they want or they can send it back and move on :oops:

I used my road bike on a mag trainer but your parents probably don't have any bikes ....

This is a serious suggestion, so dont laugh .......

My wife bought an exercise bike but after a year of it taking up space and not being used I took it to the local recycling dump .....

The bloke there just laughed and said ..... Put it over there with the others ......

A colleague told me an identical story, he took his down to the dump last week and there were 5 other "minters" out back .....

On investigation, Ive learned that lots of folk buy them, very few ever use them, and they generally get thrown out .....

........ So before you part with cash ..... Drive buy your local recycling, and see whats there ..... :D

My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

Is it any good Matt? I bought one second hand recently and it was so rubbish I scrapped it! LOL

It was a gym quality one. They replace the ones at the gym at work and where chucking them out so i had it. Never used no idea? I can have a look for you Rob?

You should be able to pick up a decent second hand exercise bike Ruby, as others have said, so your mother can aid her recovery from her hip operation. I once owned a Tunturi exercise bike and rowing machine but sold them preferring cycling in the open air in the lovely countryside surrounding our village. However, my wife smashed her knee cap, slipping on a manhole cover, 7 years ago and our neighbours gave her an unused exercise bike which aided her recovery and she still uses it from time to time when her knee is feeling stiff.
