To the OP - is the hood struggling during the rest of the cycle at all ? If not then it could be the motor for the latches at the front... Though I have never heard of those going :?
I think Stu86 may be right, it could be a folding issue. Mine doesn't latch if the folding is not right the bulletin pic is not good. Below are pics of mine right and wrong.

Yep, I would say "closing" is raising it but the OP mentioned having to click it into place and that's what I had to do when opening until I realised it wasn't folding properly. As you say, needs clarification :?
Ah! Good catch! Appears to be the case. Not on mine either. Doesn't appear to be an issue as long as the fabric folds correctly. If not, OUCH! - hello new hood!Bing said:
