Alcantara steeringwheel mod E89, Update
I have thought about this mod for a while. The idea came after buying me the M-steeringwheel. When it arrived it was without the black panels around the multifunction buttons. So I had to use the silver high gloss panels that was fitted to my old steeringwheel. This looked a little strange because of the 3rd spoke being black. After checking price on these parts (Crazy), I decided to go with a alcantara wrap that look even more nice than the original plastic black panels . The steeringwheel is not finished yet, I have a idea of how I could get the 3rd spoke to look nice
This is the pictures so far:
M steeringwheel vs sports steeringwheel
This is how it looked like with the silver bits
One down, one to go
I had to grind the edges down a little to make space for the alcantara
Two of Two
How it`s wrapped
One mounted
Both mounted
I will post more pictures when I do the 3rd spoke

That looks great I would love a complete alcantara steering wheel rafter that leather. Doubt it would be cheap or easy tho so I'll stick as is!

That looks good
Woody, I'm not sure about an Alcantara outer as your skin oils will get into it and it will require a lot of maintenance to stop it developing shiny patches. Unless of course you have some nice old school driving gloves

Stu are you saying I have oily skin? How rude!
I'm sure a friend had one in a Clio 197 Cup or something similar, looked and felt very nice but yes I'm sure it's not very practical or hard wearing...

Yes, I think the silver is ok when it`s on all three spokes. But the 3rd spoke in silver will not fit the M steering wheel.tomscott wrote:Looks good, but quite liked the silver too!
