Roadster Solution Windblocker?

Post by Roadster » Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:08 am

Ok, what's the consensus? Clear Roadster Solutions wind blocker or BMW mesh (removable panel type)? Which is the most effective and quiet?

I like the roadsters solution. Clear and removable. Never taken it out yet though.

I have the mesh. Never driven without it so I don't know what the difference is tho. I think the glass looks better.

I do get a cold draft down my right side when I drive. One of these days, i'll get some weatherstripping and try plugging the gap under the blocker.

I've got it, but now i'm not sure i'd buy it again if I was getting a new car. Doesn't seem to have made that much difference.

I bought the OEM removeable screen type that locks into brackets on the roll hoop covers. It helps the backdraft buffeting as long as you don't sit too high in the car. It was too expensive ($350 or so) but I was feelin' flush that week I'm sure the Roadster Solutions one works as well.

Roadster mesh works well for me. I had problems with the solid inserts in the roll hoops. They creaked and rattled until I added some silicone.

I believe mesh will always reduce buffetting better than solid screens as it allows air to pass at reduced speed preventing the roll off the top off the screen into the cockpit

I have a mesh one on my Zed 3 , I took it off to clean it and left it off for a week or so . it was a bit more windy(particularly with the windows up :o ) but the visibility was much better

X3 I have the mesh and I only use on long trips in cooler weather, and even then I still feel the cold air. For city driving it's a waste of time and IMO, not very attractive.

My car came with the OEM mesh version, and it works well. It certainly does make a difference having it installed - much less wind at highway speeds.
